History
The Squaw Creek Water District (SCWD) is an Improvement District organized under authority of Wyoming state statutes (reference state statures here) by petition of the majority of land owners in the area of the District. The SCWD was formed in 1981 when a private water company created in 1976 failed to supply water to all lots in the district.
Squaw Creek Water District is a member owned district maintained, controlled, and managed by the Board of Directors of the District. The district is the owner of the easements, pipeline, pumps, tanks, meters, and all other physical components of the district water works system from source up to and including each individual meter.
The object and purpose of the water system is to supply the inhabitants of the District with suitable water for normal domestic use, including moderate residential irrigation and watering for permitted animals and livestock.
There are presently (11/2021) eighty-one (81) lots within the boundaries of the district. Seventy-nine (79) are connected (tapped-in) to the District water service. The remaining two (2) lots have not yet been connected.
The SCWD is administered by a 5-member Board of Directors who are elected by the District membership and who must be landowners within the District.
