Water and Distribution System

The SCWD water supply comes from two wells located near the Game Creek trailhead (known as Game Creek No. 1 and No. 2) supported by a spring (not currently connected to the system) centrally located in the district and accessed from Squaw Creek Road. Water is lifted from the Game Creek wells (elevations 6130’ and 6150’ to the spring (elevation 6360’) and boosted to our 50,000 gallon storage tanks (2 10,000 and 2 15,000 gallon tanks) on the southeastern corner of the district. From there the water flows under gravity pressure through the main distribution lines of the District. An additional XX gallons of storage is also located along Limber Pine Road.

SCWD Funding and Financing

SCWD is a member funded District. The District funds its operations through two mechanisms: 1. A monthly water usage fee comprised of an Operations & Maintenance ((O&M) fee and a water usage fee. This is meant to cover all ongoing costs of operation and general maintenance. 2. An annual tax levy, or assessment, which is a part of an owner’s property tax bill. These funds are meant to service any outstanding debts, finance system upgrades and replacements, provide a cushion for unanticipated emergency failures within the system, and allow us to participate in federal and state assistance programs including government grants and low interest loans.
